Robin is now 3 months old. He's a great little guy. He is smiling laughing and saying the cutest little sounds. He sleeps well. Normally he sleeps from around 12 pm to 6 in the morning. Then he gets a bit to eat and then sleeps again till 8 a.m. During the day his rhythm changes from day to day from almost no sleep to lots of long naps. Just now he started grabbing after things you can see pictures of robin in the Photo gallery.

Here is the story of how he came to life the 2nd of December 2005 at 10:47 pm.:

It was pretty much just a regular Friday, but something was about to happen. Ryan went to work and I got up to get Alicia ready for kindergarten. not long after I started feeling a stirring in the belly. Though it was not the first time I was not sure, if this was real contractions or just the Braxton Hicks kind. I proceeded in my doings and drove off with Alicia. From there I went grocery shopping and shopping for materials for a mobile II wanted to make for Alicia’s cousin Meg Jillian. As I did so I felt something every once in a while but I kind of ignored it. When I came home I called Ryan to tell him that this might be the day. I then called the delivery ward to say that I might check in on them later. I also called my mother to let her know that there was a possibility that Alicia would sleep at grandma and grandpa's that night. Then I started on the mobile for MJ.

Ryan came home shortly after 15:00 and we picked up Alicia. I still felt something, but it was not anything like what I remembered.  So we ventured down town - here Ryan got a hair cut, I went Christmas shopping and we finished off with the opening of the huge town Christmas calendar at 17:00.

When we came home I was now surer that this was probably for real. I called the maternity ward again to say that I'd show up later, called my mother to let her know that Alicia would come after supper. Then I made supper and we ate. All along I started timing my contractions on my cell phone stop watch. At this time(18:30) they were just about 10 minutes apart.

Ryan went to my parents with Alicia and I cleared the table. I was now positive that that we would be parents again in the near future. Little did we know how short ahead it was? When Ryan came back we collected the last few things for the hospital. We watched some TV and relaxed. We did not want to leave to soon as we wanted to make sure we would not be sent back home. Contractions in a car, is not a pleasant experience.

About 21:00 we took off for Esbjerg. Contractions were now just about 5 minutes apart. Still they were not nearly as bad as I remembered. During the 20 minute drive they came faster and as we reached the hospital at 21:20 they were 2 minutes apart.

A nurse greeted us as we came in, and we were guided to a waiting room. Shortly after, a midwife came in. Her name was Birgitte and she was very nice. I told her that I was not sure how well my contractions had worked as they were not as bad as last time. She checked me out and - and they had sure worked as I was 5 cm open and the tissue was soft. So needless to say they let us stay.

We then went to the delivery room. Here I quickly jumped in a hot shower, bouncing on an exercise ball. Here I enjoyed the relief of the warm water running over me. Ryan put on some music and fed me tangerines. The contractions grew a bit stronger and after one hour they suddenly maximised in strength. I remember thinking - okay here comes the tough stretch a few hours of this and it will be over. The midwife asked me if I felt the need to press and I said no. However 2 minutes later I changed my mind. We went to the delivery bed and she asked me if I wanted any pain relief. I asked her if she though it would take long and as she said no decided that I might as well skip the needles as I'm not too fond of those. To my surprise she told me that I could give in to the need to press. So I did and after about 5- 6 contractions little Robin was born. It was almost a chock we had only been there for about 1 hour 20 minutes.

After some rest, a few stitches, some food and just observing our new born miracle, I had finally had enough fluid so that I could go the washroom. Then they would let us go home. Just about 2:30 we walked out into the cold winter air with our new baby. After only 6 hours we were back in our own beds for the night. Not that we slept that much but it was a great experience.
